Different Ant Types

Black Garden Ants: Black Garden Ants or just ‘Black Ants’ are the most common ant found in the UK. They average 5 mm in length and are black in colour.

Pharaoh Ants: Pharaoh ants are about 2 mm in length and yellowy brown or even appear see threw in colour and can be a real nuisance if invaded your property.

Flying Ants: Flying Ants are just the princesses and fertile males who take flight to mate and can be found all over the uk in the summer months.

It’s important to identify which ant problem you have as some D.I.Y treatments can cause severe problems and make the situation worse!

Pharaoh ants can quickly spread across buildings if not eradicated quickly, the nests are small and can be hard to find and can only be controlled by specialised baits as a chemical treatment can cause the nest to disburse creating a larger scale problem

Black Ants like the same foods we do which can be a real problem if you have a nest nearby.

All ant species leave a pheromone trail for the workers or ‘scouts’ to find their way to a food source then back to the nest.
