About Cockroaches

Cockroaches are a guest no one wants in their home or business, there are two types of cockroaches generally found in and around the London area, the German cockroach and the Oriental cockroach, the most common being the German cockroach which is tan/light brown in colour and will crawl on any surface even ceilings, they are nocturnal in nature but can be seen in the day. An adult can be about 1.5cm long and breeds at an alarming rate, up to 10,000 can be produced in one year! If you see one cockroach the chances are there will be more and will not disappear unless action is taken.

FACTS ABOUT A COCKROACH PROBLEMS

Cracks and crevasses: cockroaches can fit through the smallest of cracks by squeezing their bodies to a quarter of the size with their amazing exoskeletons. During the day they will seek harbourage in crevices and other dark areas that provide a warm and humid environment.

Not fussy eaters: Cockroaches will eat almost anything even each other! They are especially fond of starches, grease, and meat products but can eat soap and even toothpaste.

Sightings: The most common places cockroaches will be seen is in kitchens and bathrooms, usually near water sources such as dishwashers and sinks.

Damage: Cockroaches can be detrimental to a restaurants reputation and in your home kitchen by spreading bacteria and diseases such as food poisoning, diarrhoea and other illnesses. Cockroaches can also cause allergic reactions such as rashes, sneezing and asthma.

Control and Eradication: We use professional eradication techniques, such as the latest professional pesticides or bait for cockroaches which work very quickly to control the problem or trapping depending on the severity of the problem. We also investigate and offer advice as to how they got there in the first place and how to stop them from returning after eradication. This is included in the price you’re quoted initially

Proofing: A lot of points of entry can be sealed off once the eradication is complete we can quote you on any proofing or give advice if you wish to carry it out yourselves. It is important the proofing is carried out within 14 days after the final visit to ensure no further re-occurrences in the future.
